Planetary Transits for the week 5th - 11th May 2025

The Moon is in Waxing Gibbous Phase all week, culminating in the Full Moon on Monday 12th May in Scorpio. We begin the week with the Moon in Fixed Fire Leo on Monday. The Moon then enters Mutable Earth Virgo on Tuesday, Cardinal Air Libra on Thursday, and Fixed Water Scorpio on Saturday; Fixed Fire, Mutable Earth, Cardinal Air and Fixed Water.
There are not many planetary shapes this week, apart from Mercury making a Sextile with Jupiter on Monday, a Conjunction with Chiron on Wednesday and then ingresses into Taurus on Saturday. Meanwhile Venus makes a Sextile with Pluto on Tuesday. As these are the Inner and Personal Planets, of Communication and thinking, and Connections and Values; these are likely to be at the fore front during this week in how they are expressed through personal as well as collective experience.
As a brief note on the chart for Monday, we can see that the most prominent energies are the sextile between Venus and Pluto and the ongoing square between Black Moon Lilith and Pluto, which was discussed in some detail last week.
Monday 5th May
We begin the day at 03:13am with the Moon in Leo making a Trine to Mercury in Aries. As a fire trine the Moon is in a prominent social limelight. The People are front and centre. The Moon has the subjective experience, as a fixed expression of Selfhood, in a harmonic resonance with Mercury; thinking, communication and networking as Individuals. This trine is a quick and hot, spirited flow of energy, back and forth between the Moon and Mercury.
At 04:43am the Moon makes a Sextile to Jupiter in Gemini, and the conversations of earlier are joining into the arena where the subjective experience of Selfhood as expressed by the Moon is propelled forward in a separating push by Jupiter in Mutable Air Gemini. This feels like a fanning of the Flame that is the Self, and it all has to do with the field of communications and spiritual fire. Sextile energy is supportive and mutually beneficial to both the Moon and to Jupiter. It feels like a winning combination.
These are nighttime energies for the UK, so dreaming could be dynamic and insightful, while elsewhere conversation between every One, is both harmonious and supportive in a winning combination of communication at both a left and right brained level, with the added benefit of Jupiter as an extraordinary and enthusiastic propelling force.
At 08:43 the Moon in Leo makes a Trine to Chiron in Aries. Healing Wisdom is transmitted through the trine between Chiron and the Moon; between Fixed and Cardinal modes and the element of Fire. It feels like this continues to bring the theme of the nighttime aspects into the day, and in particular a flow of spiritually harmonious healing, around Self Identity and Individuality; available energy.
At 13:03 the Moon in Leo makes a first quarter Square to Uranus in Taurus. The natural and growthful tension here is between the Fixed, expressive Moon and Fixed Agent of Change, Uranus. This feels like the need for innovative action, spontaneous, unexpectedly and instantly felt and expressed through the lens of the subjective world view of the Moon. It brings a kind of Enthusiasm for Change, to express (which is the action required), from a point of alignment with whatever changes are activating within the reality of the subjective self.
At 17:21 Mercury in Aries makes a Sextile to Jupiter in Gemini, and this further enhances the levels of communication on Monday. Mercury is the activator in this sextile from Cardinal Fire Aries, in rulership of Jupiter in Mutable Air Gemini. Information and a communication is passed between the two and Jupiter is an amplification of all things to do with words, thinking, communicating and broadcasting of Mercury in Aries style messages; it’s an activation of information exchange, that is disseminated broadly through the Big Voice of Jupiter.
At 19:40 the Moon enters Mutable Earth Virgo. Time for assessment, discernment, integration and seeing what is useful, what is not and where it all fits; at a subjective and intuitive level, but through the detail oriented lens of Virgo. Virgo is about analysis of what is, so that a determination can be made about what is wheat and what is chaff; what is complete and what needs further work to perfect and complete it, and to determine where something belongs; Truth or Lies, Useful or Useless, of the Past or of the Future.
With the transiting South Node in the later degrees of Virgo, we are approaching a point of release and consolidation, in this regard, by later Wednesday into the nighttime hours of Thursday morning, before the Moon ingresses into Libra.
Tuesday 6th May
Tuesday is a quiet day astrologically in terms of transiting aspects. At 04:20 the Moon in Virgo makes a Sextile with Black Moon Lilith and this suggests a useful connection with the deep, intense and instinctually intuitive wisdom of the Feminine archetype, that Black Moon Lilith represents. In Scorpio, BML is able to see beneath the surface into the darker, deeper, murkier underbelly of emotional and psychological world, and to ‘know’ a powerful truth. As a Sextile, the Moon in Virgo benefits greatly from this deeper understanding, as a part of the Virgo process.
It’s a quieter day, but it seems to offer a point of introspection into powerful dynamics, and later in the day at 21:31 Venus in Aries makes another Sextile, and this one is to Pluto in Aquarius. Again there is a sense of collaborative internal connections that validate the self. Pluto propels; Venus is moved, by the powerful forces emitted through the Sextile with Pluto. This Sextile feels like it carries the power of personal values, that are increased as personal knowledge is increased; knowledge of something that comes through, that was forgotten, or lost in memory; the unknown knowns, becoming known.
Wednesday 7th May
At 01:47 Mercury makes a conjunction with Chiron at 24.25 degrees, and this feels like a natural healing moment after the Venus Pluto Sextile. Dreams could well bring messages that bring knowledge up from the unconscious that has a healing effect on the mind and individual thinking.

This is a truly lovely symbol degree for the Mercury Chiron conjunction. The encounter for Mercury has the potential to be quite profoundly revelatory and healing. It carries the energy of the symbol of Optimism and Faith and Expectation that life really is going to turn out just as we dream it. What we believe will be, will be. It’s fundamental to our understanding that we get what we expect and the Chiron wisdom and healing is to bring faith and optimism that everything is going to work out in ones favour. And so it does. We could wake from the dream state with a renewed sense that all is well and all shall be well. I’m going for this.
At 04:49 the Moon in Virgo makes a trine to the Sun in Taurus. Another nighttime aspect which brings a harmonisation of Earthly abundance, illuminated and the Moon soaks up something very nurturing, in the pursuit of understanding.
Later in the day on Wednesday the Moon makes a square to Jupiter in Gemini. Information of a kind that brings change and changeability. There is a need to be flexible in how we perceive something that is communicated through Jupiter, and which the Moon connects with, that requires a flexibility of mind to take in the information and adjust to it.
At 20:35 the Moon now makes a double connection all at once to the North and South Nodes of the Moon. The Moon’s own orbital path as it intersects something of the past and an invitation. The Moon Opposes the North Node in Pisces and makes a Conjunction to the South Node. This locks the Moon into a period of the evening where the past can be integrated and released; something is ending and we are feeling the relief of releasing something that is finished.
At the same time we glimpse something of the future that is waiting to unfold ‘through’ knowing what must be released in the field of consciousness. This seems to be a moment of seeing something clearly, from a distance and up close at the same time, like the zoom function on binoculars. Clarity comes. Subjectively, this is a sensitive and internal process, but one that is a moment of decision.

A multitude of minor and major ego-adjustments add up to a life of interactions with family and associates. Yet these processes are not fully sufficient to deal with core issues of our shadow nature. To take us to another level of awareness, wherein we can see ourselves for what we are and let go of the deepest imperfection of being, we need to experience purification.
Very often this is ‘by fire’ – in other words catharsis. We live in a very dark and terrible age and we have to release ourselves from the expectation that that darkness will engulf us. There is hope for the courageous, determined, passionate aspirant – with these qualities we can be free of the corruption that has blinded us from soul consciousness.

Both of these symbol degrees are so in accord with the Virgo process for the Moon. In purging the field of consciousness from corrupted thinking, thoughts, concepts, ideas, and beliefs, we are free to release and clarify our entire field of thinking. This Moon transit has the potential to be quite profoundly, psychologically healing and releasing of old worn out ideas, ideals, beliefs, concepts and ideologies. ‘The Flag at Half Mast in Front of a Public Building,’ heralds the recognition of something that enables this release; there’s an unlocking and swinging the doors of perception wide kind of feel to it.
Wednesday is a great day for personal and profound processes of reflection, release and the freeing of our minds from corrupted thoughts. To me, this feels like a perfect Moon in Virgo process. An evolutionary shift and no doubt about it.
Thursday 8th May
It’s just the Moon today, processing, thinking, connecting and relating. At 00:29 the Moon in Virgo makes a Trine to Uranus in Taurus. Earthly shifts; shifts at a grounded level, and change in the structure of reality; of perceptions. Uranus brings sudden revelatory understandings that are immediate and seem to come from left of field; out of bounds. The shifts are increasing and there’s a sense of the electricity that travels through the mind at lightning speed. As a Trine, this brings concepts down to Earth in a way that can change everything. I don’t know what this will look like, but I feel it as an exciting and electrical charge of higher intuitive thought. Uranus can often turn up this way, and things are never quite the same afterwards. Virgo loves the connection with Uranus which facilitates the needed changes within the Moon. Everything changes. Nothing is the same again and nor would the Moon want it to be. The Mind is free of something that was holding it to the past, through corrupted thinking processes. The Moon is electrified in a very real way through this trine. Dreams!
At 04:10 just before leaving Virgo, the Moon makes an Opposition to Saturn in Pisces. The Opposition is both an opportunity to see clearly all the structures of consciousness that were of the old devil, Saturn (corrupted structures in consciousness), and to connect with the potential of new structures that are beginning to emerge from the realm of potentiality. Again, Dreams could be extremely insightful and enlightening.
At 07:07 the Moon enters Cardinal Air Libra, and the field of relationship, harmonisation of self with others and the desire for fairness and justice for all. Anything that is not right can be put right, through right relationship ‘between’ self and others.
At 09:45 the Moon in Libra now, makes an Opposition to Neptune in Aries. What was foggy and unclear, seems to be clearer to see. The Cardinal Fire nature of Aries burns off any confusion and there’s a straightforward-ness to Neptune, where the Moon can sense and feel subjectively that it is easier to know what is right. The potential to integrate and harmonise the opposition between personal dreams, ideals and spirit, and the subjective world of how the Moon relates to others and to the self, is very possible in this opposition. There’s a clarity that was not there before. After the Virgo processes and revelations; the choice point of releasing corrupted thinking, the Moon has the potential to bring new found clarity into relationships. What is in harmony with this, is what comes into the future and what is not is clearer to see and falls away. This is a larger process, but in this moment today, the intuitive insights clarify.
At 14:48 the Moon in Libra makes a Trine to Pluto in Aquarius. This process brings a flow of knowledge and revelations from the memory banks and connects to future innovative potentials. Pluto is always a powerful connection, and in retrograde is going over ground to make a stitch in time over the last months since Pluto entered Aquarius for good, which was on the 20th November 2024. The next months are creating an anchor point where Pluto leaves nothing un-examined. So this Trine is a powerful moment of connecting with something that was unknown, unremembered, dissociated information, new information and innovative future oriented thinking. All that.
At 17:22 the Moon in Libra makes an Opposition to Venus in Aries. Venus rules Libra and so the Moon is held in a vibrant tension, magnetised in a sense, toward the new values that are being instilled through the Aries lens of individuality and personal will, to be counted. Venus is out of her shadow period now and enjoying a cardinal movement toward connecting in new ways. If the Moon has aligned with the Virgo process, released the past and embraced the changes within consciousness, then this Opposition will feel like seeing a beautiful someone, at a distance, in a way that feels new and exciting; perhaps challenging of any lingering whispers of habitual and subjective ways.
Friday 9th May
After the potent connections this week, Friday is quiet. In the nighttime hour of 02:06, the Moon in Libra makes a Sextile to Mars in Leo. Dreams may bring something through of a warm and generous feeling of Masculine ‘shine.’ It’s the kind of energy that feels strong and warm and full of Heart energy.
Saturday 10th May
At 06:17 the Moon in Libra today, makes a Trine to Jupiter in Gemini. This ‘sounds’ like a high vibrational conversation that is full of Jupiter, giving it large and enthusiastically communicating, and the Moon picking up the signals that are transmitted through the Trine. Jupiter lifts all conversations into the highest possible outcomes. Again, this is likely to be early morning dreams and connections.
At 08:59 the Moon makes an Opposition to Chiron in Aries. There are healing potentials here, between self and others. It’s an Opposition but feels like it brings us from the Trine of earlier in the week while the Moon was still in Leo, to a clearer, insightful appreciation of how the week has unfolded for the Moon. It’s another integration point or an oppositional challenge, but either way it is movement and shows how the internal processes of the week have matured.
12:15 Mercury ingresses into Taurus. This slows down the thinking and brings grounding to stabilise the fast fire of Aries. Mercury is catching up with the Sun, so still travelling at a lick but, Taurus is a stabilising and a grounding of the mental thinking processes. Taurus is a peaceful mind when the Bull lays in the Summer Sun under the Oak Tree, dreaming with the Earth. On the other end of the scale, a tested Bull can be … something to be wary of. I know which vision I prefer.
At 19:59 the Moon enters Fixed Water Scorpio. Everything enters a powerful immersion into deeper emotional and psychological processes. This transit through Scorpio is always useful and carries the potential for great insight beneath the surface appearances.
At 21:15 the Moon in Scorpio makes an Opposition to Mercury in Taurus. There is a short time between the Moon entering Scorpio and now connecting with Mercury in Taurus. They have both entered new signs, modalities and elements, so we are ‘feeling’ a steadier and slowed down thinking process that because of this is able to connect strongly with those fixed things internally, that might otherwise be missed. It’s a very focused opposition. Intuition in deep emotional insight and thinking that is stable and focused. As oppositions go, this one has the ability to go very deep and bring solid insight into fixed patterns that are underneath the surface.
Sunday 11th May
At 03:42 the Moon makes a square to Pluto in Aquarius. Fixed square of crisis of consciousness. The Moon connects with fixed revelations of Aquarius which are likely to feel powerfully destabilising and the Moon will feel the need to adjust in consciousness to accept and align with the information; to allow it to break open what has been fixed. Dreams may bring up things from the unconscious that are emotional, psychological and powerfully revealing in nature.
At 06:11 the Moon makes a Conjunction with Black Moon Lilith at 05.01 degrees of Scorpio.

The capacity of Scorpio to intensify feelings at any cost can be expressed as a greed for wealth as a means of becoming more closely involved with society, although it is not so much the gold that is the issue as the intensity of involvement. Equally there is a noticeable acceleration of the pace of life as a seeker’s avidity for experience grows with each new aspect of realisation, and until that appetite is met they can be quickly drawn into any promise of deeper involvement.

This symbol degree for the Moon BML Conjunction seems to carry a warning of the shadow side of ‘power’ and greed for wealth through money. That in pursuit of money, power and wealth there is a potential for falling prey to the lure of ‘more’ money brings greater opportunity for experience. I wonder if this is not the kind of revelation that is likely to be uncovered from the Square to Pluto. Monday and all week, Black Moon Lilith has remained strongly in Square to Pluto, and the Moon is now connecting to them both strongly within the nighttime period here in the UK. Unconscious desires, around these things may well emerge and the People get a glimpse of what has been operating at a collective level. This is a strong conjunction that carries powerful insight for the Moon into personal and collective undercurrents. These are deeply embedded, fixed patterns that have been running through the field of collective experience.
Later on Sunday and the last aspect for the week, at 17:38pm, the Moon makes a first quarter square to Mars in Leo. Fixed energies end the week and it feels like a strong confrontation with unpalatable truths.
What a note to end the week on. Let’s see how it unfolds. It’s a great week and a potentially confronting week; a week that shows polarities and the deeper processes as we move from the past into the future.
