The Moon this week begins in the Sign of Mutable Earth Virgo (Examine what is presented). On Wednesday 4th, the Moon enters Cardinal Air Libra (Harmonise the space between self and others), and in the early hours of Saturday (UK specific) the Moon then enters Fixed Water Scorpio, (Dive into deeper emotional intensity).
The Moon Phases for this week begin as Waxing Crescent: Growth; the energy builds; self assurance; self confidence; planning.
On Tuesday, the Moon is at First Quarter Phase: Action; reflection; pause; self appreciation.
On Wednesday, the Moon enters the phase of Waxing Gibbous: Assessment; honing; mindfulness; action. This is a phase of greatest expansion of the light and the energies of the Moon Sun cycle.
Monday 2nd June - Waxing Crescent Moon Phase
03:00 Moon enters Mutable Earth Virgo. The ‘work’ of Virgo is to ‘serve’ the greater whole; whether that is an individual, a community, a population or the entire world. The Virgo principle is about healing and integration through analysis, and examination of what is there to analyse and examine; what needs to be organised into a whole and integrated system. A place for everything and everything in its place, and this means discerning what is what and where it belongs. The ‘system’ could be a physical body, an organism, an organisation, a government, a paradigm, etc. With the Moon in Virgo, these processes are made easier, and bring a great focus to mental functioning and a clarity of purpose.
With this as a nighttime ingress, dreams may be interesting, insightful and set the tone for a week of looking closely at what is being ‘put in front of us,’ so that we may decide and discern through Virgo principles, what is what; who is who; where things fit. Virgo is an undistracted, focused clarifier, when not distracted by getting lost in the detail. Every Virgo needs to remember that a zoom lens can be used to see things at a distance as well as close up. We ‘see more’ that way.
17:23 on Monday, the Moon makes a sextile to Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio. After the day of mental focus on what is presented to us, Black Moon Lilith is the kind of support that pulls back the curtain, offering insight into more intense emotional material; the psychological; the karmic; the darker more entangled space of how things have been. A glimpse in this sextile perhaps of what is needed to see, to assist in the discernment process.
Tuesday 3rd June - First Quarter Moon Phase
At 03:40 in the nighttime hours, the Moon in Virgo makes a Square to the Sun in Gemini. It’s an interesting Square. The information highlights something that the Moon must act upon in Virgo and the action required, is to discern without leaping to a conclusion, regarding what is put in front of you. Sometimes the needed focus reveals the deeper meaning of a thing, or shows it to have no use at all. This nighttime Square may bring dreams that reflect deeper processing through dreams, at least for those in the UK time zone. Things may not be what or how they are initially presented.
Later in the day on Tuesday, the Moon makes another Square to Mercury in Gemini. When you consider that Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo; in square with each other, there is always a natural tension of growthful potential between the thinking and the logical mind that just takes it all in, and spits it all out with no discernment; and the need to take the time to quietly and diligently examine the information that comes in, before knowing whether it is useful, misleading, and whether it even has a place to fit into. Does what you are hearing make sense? I often think the difference between Gemini and Virgo is very much like this need to grow in discernment. First, Gemini to take it all in; then Virgo to integrate the vast amounts of knowledge, information and communications that Mercury has to deal with, and discern what something really is. Both are mutable Signs and dealing with change and the mutability needed to ensure that what is fixed can become cardinal again. It’s a moving process of mental functions.
Wednesday 4th June - Waxing Gibbous Moon Phase
00:21 Moon in Virgo makes simultaneous Conjunction and Opposition to the Nodes. In Virgo the Conjunction is to the South Node and the Opposition to the North Node in Pisces.
Here are the Sabian symbols for both of these degrees in Virgo and Pisces:
Sabian symbol for 24 degrees Pisces; the Opposition - This degree range encompasses the idea of ‘Purification.’

SELF-IDENTIFICATION
We must choose how to interrelate with others and so the need arises for an acceptable yet authentic identity
"Use conflict as a means to learn compassionate acceptance"
In every sense our ego is our version of the truth of life. We cannot grasp reality at all without ego, we cannot interact, we cannot even centralise our own consciousness into any defined point of comprehension. We come to notice that we clash egos with people who significantly differ from us on matters of deepest importance. On a grand scale this explains religious wars and the mutual disgust between the haves and the have-nots. As we mature we soften our insistence upon our version of truth and open up more to the fact that others are free to exercise their right to see things differently to us. They inhabit their little island and we ours.
Rudhyar:
ON A SMALL ISLAND SURROUNDED BY THE VAST EXPANSE OF THE SEA, PEOPLE ARE SEEN LIVING IN CLOSE INTERACTION
As an Opposition, this Sabian degree suggests that the Moon is likely to be faced with such oppositional and polarised energies. As a nighttime transit aspect, it’s also likely that this may be reflected through dreams and so from the perspective of the Moon in Virgo, we can ‘see something’ from a distance that is in us; how we co-habit as part of a collective consciousness, and which shows us our true state of being in relation to those who hold completely different perspectives. From the Virgo perspective, this Opposition offers the Opportunity to integrate, to heal, to see what is what ‘in us’ and to make the needed adjustments in order to heal and resolve inner conflicts of interest.

THE SPIRITUAL PRACTICE OF INNOCENCE
The more we progress in spiritual maturity the more we radiate childlike qualities and purity of spirit
"The spiritual practice of innocence"
Despite having a nobility of demeanour and powerful will the more advanced seeker is able to radiate innocence and purity, holding on to a childlike simplicity of being. This protects us from attachment to pride and also softens all the situations we encounter adding a spontaneity and lightness of being to life.
Rudhyar:
MARY AND HER LITTLE LAMB
My initial sense of this symbol degree, in consideration of the Opposition to the North Node, is that this Virgo process by Conjunction, brings the Moon into a new phase of understanding in relationship with the belief systems and world views of others. The South Node release and evolutionary impulse to ‘let go of the past,’ is calling the Moon to release criticism, while critical thinking leads to a sense of a returning to the childlike approach. The conditioned mind has been cultured to consider difference as confronting, while it is the discernment of what something is and who someone is, without feeling the need to defend or attack. This is quite different; it is calling something what it is while knowing where it belongs. This disarms any opposition and is a point of evolutionary integration; of self knowledge, as ‘distinct’ from ‘other.’ This is not passivity but clarity, and freedom from the chaos of entangled consciousness, and embattlement. It is the release of outworn states of consciousness, through the South Node and Virgo processes.
At 10:14 on Wednesday the Moon in Virgo makes a Trine to Uranus in Taurus. Uranus transmits a strong electrical pulse through to the Moon in Virgo and the Virgo processes inform Uranus of the state of play. It’s a mutually informative and supportive Earth Trine; with the Changes that Uranus brings, able to be integrated through the Mutability of Virgo, at a feelings and subjective level. Change is more solidly in focus.
At 11:11 the Moon makes a Square with Jupiter in Gemini. Jupiter is in the last degree of Gemini. Remember what the Anoretic degree signifies. Both the Moon and Jupiter are at the last degree of each sign. What tension travels through this square propels the Moon to take a leap of faith and to recognise the truth.
13:39 the Moon enters Cardinal Air Libra. The Moon harmonises with those who are close and in whose relationship they feel a belonging.
15:04 the Moon in Libra makes an Opposition to Saturn in Aries, followed closely a couple of hours later with an Opposition to Neptune; both in conjunction to each other. These are new energies that the Moon encounters. Saturn is a solidifying of a new phase as an initial impulse in Aries. Neptune is the unboundaried higher purpose also seeding a new phase of possibility from spiritual potential into a new beginning; an impulse for a new journey. The Moon in this Opposition gets a ‘from a distance’ glimpse of those possibilities, in a way that may feel so different from the way things have been. In Libra, the Moon could feel that balance and harmony is upset in the face of new impulses. It’s a potential destabilisation of the Scales of Libra; who will feel the need to balance itself as transitionary energies express themselves through Saturn and Neptune; these are the larger forces of this, and other dimensions of reality.
20:51 on Wednesday and the Moon makes a Trine to Pluto in Aquarius. This suggests that there is a flow of fast and dynamic information; knowledge from Pluto that reveals something useful and harmonising for the Moon in Libra. One thing (Opposition to Saturn/Neptune), brings unexpected movement and the other (Trine to Pluto), brings help through intense transition from one state into another. Here again, it’s worth reminding everyone that these energies are collectively experienced as well as personally for those whose natal charts are impacted by these transits. We are all in this together.
Thursday 5th June
02:31 Venus in Aries makes Sextile to Jupiter in Gemini. It’s a lovely alliance between a Venus who is growing into new Values, of appreciation and self confidence, in collaboration with a Jupiter who is making a leap of faith in knowledge that is expansive. Each supports the other; each elevates the other. This is very nice energy in the nighttime hours. Dreams could be elevating, expansive and leaning toward joyous optimism; encouraging; supportive of personal value and confidence in individual autonomy.
17:03 Mercury in Gemini makes a Square to both the South and the North Nodes of the Moon. An evolutionary tension between actively taking in everything and the need to discern. This brings the focus onto ‘thinking’ styles and the need to release perceptions that no longer serve. We may logically connect with the growing tension being created by the Mercury Jupiter Conjunction that we are heading for on Sunday, but Mercury’s journey this week begins with this evolutionary tension in how we think about what is presented, and releasing at the same time as agreeing. Perhaps we could say that there will be some things that we logically and consciously can agree on; that make sense, and some things that need greater examination before deciding what is what. The Square, suggests that some things will be released, alongside active resonance with others.
20:46 the Moon in Libra makes a Trine to the Sun in Gemini. As the energy of the Moon increases in its shared light with the Sun, this moment is an illumination of knowledge and information, in which the Moon is bathed. This is harmonious and warming and may even be enlightening.
22:09 and Mercury in Gemini makes a Sextile with Mars in Leo. It’s mutual and fast moving energy of thought and radiance. Mars is activated by the Mercury energy, while Mercury is rewarded with activated Mars energy. It feels like there is the potential for a forceful exchange that is fruitful, pushing through some membrane of inertia. This energy is fast moving where information fans the flame of Mars, which activates greater exchange in return. Both Mercury and Mars are activating archetypes. So this late evening exchange on Thursday could be very enervating.
Friday 6th June
04:43 Venus enters Fixed Earth Taurus and arrives home into the Taurus field of stable, fundamental abundance. It’s Summer for Venus. Dreams could be abundant.
14:18 and the Moon in Libra makes a Sextile to Mars in Leo. Mars activates the Moon and brings the heat that the Moon needs to ‘move’ to ‘decide’ on something. Libra can feel the difficulty of making decisions, but Mars speeds up the process, while the Moon brings Mars a considerate energy and diplomacy that is likely to be needed. The Moon Cools Mars, and Mars Warms the Moon. Radiating fire and indecisive Air are balanced out.
16:55 Moon in Libra makes a Trine to Mercury in Gemini. Intellectual and logical, thoughtful and considerate; the Moon is aided in diplomacy by logical thinking and information; while Mercury is aided in being diplomatic in information exchange.
At 18:08 Moon in Libra makes an Opposition to Chiron in Aries. This feels like the Moon is able to see something and connect with the healing wisdom of Chiron; a teaching that comes through opposition. How this plays out will depend on each individual and their relationship dynamics with others, and it is perhaps a challenge and an opportunity, to use diplomacy and logical thinking to back up subjective perspectives. This opposition will likely play out through the confrontation with opposite view points. Chiron teaches something that is healing, in this opposition. How to impart knowledge and perspectives with logic that support intuition, with healing intention.
23:54 Mercury makes a Sextile to Chiron. There are messages, teaching, learning, and growth of self knowledge in both directions through this sextile. Mercury is propelled forward with knowledge that is healing.
Saturday 7th June
01:04 the Moon in Libra makes Trine with Jupiter in Gemini. This feels very dynamic. Jupiter brings faith and an elevation of the mind that relates and harmonises with the Moon, who desires the fairness of equity and balance; that things be put right and that love is at the centre of things. Jupiter brings knowledge flowing through the Trine in a reciprocal transmission. It’s really nice. Again, dreams may be inspiring of such faith in life.
02:23 the Moon enters Fixed Water Scorpio. The Moon moves through to deeper and more intense emotional waters.
04:21 the Moon makes an Opposition to Venus in Taurus. This feels like a genuine and authentic exchange of honesty. A truth-filled moment where something of internal shadow material could surface, in order to be developed in the field of Taurus. The Moon Feels it all at a deep and subjective, intuitive level. Dreams.
09:37 and the Moon makes a last quarter ‘crisis in consciousness’ Square with Pluto in Aquarius. Things of Pluto in Aquarius; compartmentalised, un-remembered aspects of ones own past experience, comes to the fore; something distinct that is felt by the Moon in Scorpio at a deep level. The Moon Feels the need to resolve the tensions internally, which are triggered in response to what Pluto excavates. This may not be felt by everyone but as a whole, the Aquarius field speaks to collective humanity.
18:48 the Moon in Scorpio makes a Conjunction with Black Moon Lilith.
The Sabian symbol for the Moon BML conjunction, encompasses the idea of ‘Service.’
Dental work
DENTAL WORK
Scorpio 9 (8° - 9°)
DESTRUCTION AND REPAIR
The imperfections of our ego-motivated life style bring us to find inventive ways to cope and re-balance
"Being helpful in solving others' problems"
A calm person tends to be more careful about their lifestyle, more respectful towards their body and conscious about what they eat. The stresses of social pressure lead us to take food that is harmful to teeth; they were not made to process so much sugar, salt or fat. Dentists were invented to overcome this issue, which arises through unnatural behaviour. This hints at the capacity we all have to find a way to work out solutions to the problems we encounter whenever we wander too far off the path of what is natural for the body. At one level, the cycle of all life is one of destruction and repair.
Rudhyar:
A DENTIST AT WORK
There are remedies for what ails us. At an emotional and psychological level for the Moon in Scorpio, the Conjunction with BML, suggests through this symbol degree, that there are those whose Service, is available, to help restore us in whatever capacity is needed. Scorpio is about death and rebirth and the transformative potential through difficulty. Often the answer is written in to the problem and comes from facing things with the help of others. In Scorpio, we learn that the antidote is in the poison. The lesson is there as well as the answers needed. Fixed ways that require transformation of a restorative nature.
Where there is a need, it’s appropriate to seek help and help others when needed.
Sunday 8th June
At 20:11 on Sunday, Mercury is conjunct Jupiter at the anoretic degree of Gemini. The anoretic degree is a powerful point in any sign. This is the definition of just how powerful this can be in any sign:
Definition of Anoretic Degrees:
In astrology, the anoretic degree (usually 29 degrees of a sign) is considered a point of intense energy and change, often associated with the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one. Planets at this degree can signify a heightened awareness of a particular life area, where a shift or resolution is likely. It can also indicate a time of significant challenge or turning point, often marking the end of a period and the beginning of a new phase.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
End of a Cycle:
The anoretic degree is seen as a point where a cycle or process is nearing completion, leading to a possible shift or resolution in the associated area of life.
Heightened Awareness:
Planets in this degree can highlight a heightened awareness or sensitivity to the energies of the sign and its associated planet.
Turning Point:
The anoretic degree can be associated with significant challenges or turning points, forcing individuals to face difficult situations or make important decisions.
Intense Energy:
The energy at this degree is considered intense and can manifest in various ways, including heightened emotions, difficult choices, or unexpected events.
Potential for Breakthrough:
While challenges are often associated with the anoretic degree, it also holds the potential for breakthroughs and new beginnings as the old cycle is released and a new one emerges.
With Jupiter and Mercury both at this point, we may experience these powerful dynamics throughout the field of communication in all its senses; how we think, the information stream that is available, how we perceive; the old story, about to reach its end. It’s all amplified by Jupiter who brings faith in the process, and Mercury takes it all in. Mercury is Scribe as well as Messenger; recording everything, categorising, sharing and the dissemination of knowledge. This could turn up as a Flood of Knowledge entering the field of general (everyone’s) awareness over the coming days, which would make Mercury’s transit ingress into Cancer even more poignant and real.
EDIT:
I forgot to add the Sabian Symbol for the Mercury Jupiter Conjunction. Here it is:
Bathing beauties
BATHING BEAUTIES
Gemini 30 (29° - 30°)
EXEMPLIFICATION
Choosing the best sets a standard for people to aspire towards and accept as a defining quality of community values
"Choosing standards in order to express values"
Any culture will glorify the best example of whichever qualities it holds up as representative of its highest values - whether this is done with Oscars, Nobel Prizes or red ribbons at a local rodeo. This process stabilises, promotes and communicates the best current standards for individuals to try to exemplify. We show what we are and what we have achieved in order to win social validation.
Rudhyar:
A PARADE OF BATHING BEAUTIES BEFORE LARGE BEACH CROWDS
Seems to me that this is about the unreal presentation of who we are, in order to gain acceptance … but; who are we really. The false constructs of the self that in the Virgo processes and the South Node, need to be released, so that we can find and express our true self. Notice this underscores the Mercury ingress into Cancer.
END OF EDIT.
At 22:58 Mercury enters Cardinal Water Cancer. In Cancer Mercury thinks through feelings and emotional sensitivity to the environment. Mercury can be emotionally intelligent here, while finding it hard to separate thoughts and emotions, and the feelings world of sifting and sorting according to emotional thinking. As a Personal Planet, Mercury will operate according to ones emotional state, how one perceives, and where we might have emotional attachments to thoughts, that colour our perception filters. After the Jupiter Conjunction at the Anoretic degree of Gemini, this immersion into the feelings world of Cancer might seem turbulent. We are ending a Story and Beginning another. Emotional intelligence will be needed to navigate all the thoughts and their emotional attachments. Not all of it will be ours. Cancer is laden sometimes with the emotions of environment and of others, which can be an unconscious attachment, to information that is emotionally, highly charged and subjective, not necessarily grounded or logical.
This is the week as the Moon Feels it. Until next week,
Much Love
